Educational Assessments

When you or your child is struggling academically it can be a frustrating and confusing process. I strongly believe every child wants to do well and succeed in school. When a child isn’t succeeding academically, there typically is a reason beyond not caring or not trying “hard enough.” Often when a child is struggling in school, it may be because they learn differently or have trouble sustaining attention. A comprehensive assessment can help you better understand you or your child’s unique learning strengths and discover ways to best help in areas of weakness.

I provide learning assessments for the following concerns:

  • Attention/Focus (ADHD)

  • Reading Disorder (Dyslexia)

  • Disorders of Written Expression

  • Mathematics Disorders/Dyscalculia

  • Processing (Speed) Concerns

  • Test Anxiety

My assessment process includes an initial interview with parents to better understand their concerns for their child. This initial intake can be in person or virtually. I also request feedback from teachers that know the child well. The assessment process involves several hours of testing in person to understand your child’s unique learning profile, including strengths and any areas of weakness. Following the completion of the assessment, I meet again with the parents to review the assessment, provide a written report and share recommendations.
